Would an injection of Metoclopramide, Baytril and Famotidine given to a 6 year old cat,…
I am certainly sorry if this was your cat that passed away. Metoclopramide (an anti-nausea/vomiting medicine), Baytril (an antibiotic) and Famotidine (an
antacid) are all medications commonly used in cats. Used appropriately without contraindications and at the correct dosage, I would suspect none of these to be responsible for the cat’s death. Even with this said, cats (as in humans) can have individual reactions to any medication..although a serious reaction is usually considered rare. If the cat was given these medications, I would assume she was fairly ill to start, and I would be more suspicious that what made this cat ill was ultimately responsible for her craziness, and ultimate passing. Without knowing more it’s hard to say. I would certainly talk to your veterinarian about your concerns and see if he or she can also shed some light on this. Hope this helps.
