Megacolon (an enlarged colon - often for an unknown reason) is one of the most frustrating conditions we deal with. Cisapride and lactulose remain the mainstay of therapy. We often start these drugs at a low dose and then increase as needed dependent on the weight and condition of our patient. Diet manipulation can also be helpful for some cats.
