Since your cat has had previous issues with urinary tract disease and your vet recommended Purina ONE Healthy Urinary Tract Formula, it is probably a good idea to continue feeding this product. This product is specially formulated to contain low levels of magnesium and promote a slightly acidic urine to help maintain a healthy urinary tract. Purina ONE Healthy Urinary Tract dry cat food is sometimes recommended for cats that have had urinary tract problems or the cat is placed on a special prescription diet. Purina Cat Chow brand Healthful Life is better designed for cats that have not had previous problems with urinary tract disease.
